DESCRIPTION
Encouraging and caring for children through the implementation of various programs ranging from games to music, and providing a nutritious hot meal to Edmonton’s inner city and low income area schools.
PAY: 10.00/HR (After 3 months salary and benefits)
HOURS: M-F 10am – 6pm (need to be flexible)
ANTICIPATED START DATE: ASAP
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of high school
- Experience in sports, coaching, or school intramurals as well as drama, craft or other creative skills is an asset
- Strong leadership skills and willingness to grow and display commitment to the position
- Ability to interact with youth in a positive manner
- Passion for youth in a ministry setting (open to Christian environment)
- Possess an energetic, outgoing attitude and is physically fit

We are looking to fill the following positions at Brightwood Ranch.
Summer positions are paid and include:
4 month positions (May to August): Intake worker at the Hope Mission (nights) for 2 months ($12.00/HR), then choose from the following 2 month positions at Brightwood Ranch
2 month positions: (July and August): Counsellors, assistant cooks, assistant wranglers, first aid attendant/nurse (see below)

Brightwood Ranch is an evangelical Christian camp and a ministry of Hope Mission. We run camps for inner city and underprivileged youth from Edmonton and the surrounding areas.
Counselors
Dates of Service: June 25, 2008 – August 23 or August 30, 2008
Salary: $1,000 per month, room and board plus the opportunity to raise an additional $1,000 per month.

Ministry Description:
- To ensure that each camper has a well balanced camp experience, ie. emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually.
- To lead and guide a camper in such a way that they will have an opportunity to receive Christ and/or grow in their Christian life.
- To be responsible for the campers’ safety and hygiene
- To teach or help teach assigned activities
- To lead cabin Bible studies and devotions each day and participate in chapel services
- To fill out all evaluations and reports on campers
Main Site Program Director
Dates of Service: May 1, 2008 - August 30, 2008
Salary: $1,000 per month, room and board plus the opportunity to raise an additional $1,000 per month.

Maintenance Helper

Junior Wrangler Program Leader

- To lead a group a high school students in learning more about riding, horse knowledge how to teach kids how to ride and how to communicate about God through horses..

Assistant Wranglers

Head Cook

- to oversee the food preparation for 120 people per day
- to manage the assistant cooks
- to be involved in ministry with the campers in some way during the week.
First Aid Attendant/ Nurse
Dates of Service: June 25, 2008 - August 23 or 30th, 2008
Salary: $1,000 per month, room and board plus the opportunity to raise an additional $1,000 per month.

Ministry Description:
- To take possession of and administer all medicine for campers and staff
- To keep records of all treatments and medication given
- To check all hygiene aspects of camp
- To keep an overall eye on the cleanliness of the campers and staff
- To care for the ill or injured
- Assist in other areas of the camp where needed ie. kitchen or office
Leadership Developement Program Leader
Dates of Service: May 1, 2008 - August 30, 2008
Salary: $1,000 per month, room and board plus the opportunity to raise an additional $1,000 per month.

Ministry Description:
- involves the training of a group of 8-10 young people per session (2 - 4 week sessions). The youth are ages 15-17. The program consists of service projects, activity area skill development, bible studies, training in campers issues, mentoring, chapel involvement, games, plus a week long canoe trip.
Sweat Team Program Leader
Dates of Service: May 1, 2008 - August 30, 2008
Salary: $1,000 per month, room and board plus the opportunity to raise an additional $1,000 per month.

Ministry Description:
- involves the training of a group of 8-10 young people per session (4 - 1 week sessions in August).
The youth are ages 13-15. The program consists of service projects, leading activity areas, bible studies, mentoring, chapel involvement, games.
This position also involves leading the Junior Counselor Training Program for July.
Assistant Cook
Dates of Service: June 25, 2008 - August 30, 2008
Salary: $1,000 per month, room and board plus the opportunity to raise an additional $1,000 per month.

- To help manage the kitchen helpers

Secretary
