New Surrender Review
Friday, October 10th, 2008
Anberlin’s new album, New Surrender, released at the end of September, is the band’s first release on a major label since they signed with Universal Republic Records back in August 2007. Lyrically influenced by the war in Iraq, conspiracy theories and dealing with the news of a friends recent diagnosis with a terminal disease, Stephen Christian said he went through a “minor breakdown” in which he decided to “run away to New Orleans” to write. The album is filled with punching course lines and melodic riffs bound to have you anticipating every track. Stephen Christian’s unique sounding vocals are as present as ever, and even more clearer and resounding.
My favorites as of now are:
So, go, take a listen, I’m positive new listeners and faithful fans alike will enjoy this one.

The answer is simple, DOT CALM. this kid is cali life living in brooklyn, directing movies and producing basement bedroom rap tracks in his slim shavings of available time, DEFINING alternative rap with such kind precision that i weep in joy, turn green, and fall apart shaking in envy.
