Brightwood Ranch

A great place to make many new friends and renew old acquaintances. In a Christian atmosphere of love and acceptance, with caring councilors, hope is brought into the lives of many children. Trained staff strive to make every moment memorable for each camper. With carefully developed programs, graded skills, and unstructured recreation staff will help campers learn discipline, self confidence, personal respect and character. Although a full program of outdoor activities is available, campers also profit from learning about Jesus Christ and discussing the issues of life.

Junior Camps

Each day from the wake-up call to lights out, campers will be busy enjoying a wide variety of activities, both learning new skills and just having a lot of fun. With three hearty meals to provide sufficient energy, children can enjoy riding a horse, trying to hit a bull’s eye in archery, or a thrilling ride on the zip-line. Other activities will include crafts, skateboarding, riflery, puppetry, wilderness skills, drama, fun chapel, tether ball, cookouts, cabin group, and bible studies. Of course, the day would not be complete without visiting the tuck shop to stock up on those favorite treats. Each day will end with chapel where campers will have the opportunity to sing songs and learn about God.

Activities at Intermediate Camps

Horseback riding, archery, climbing wall, crafts, sports, skateboarding, riflery, wilderness skills, drama, campfires, chapel, tetherball, night games, fab food, great staff, cabin group bible studies,

cookouts, lots of fun.

Enjoy all of our activities once during the mornings and then specialize in two during the afternoons.

Tipi Village

Participants in this program sleep in tents, have their food cooked over a fire, spend in outdoor activities and also go to all the usual activities at least once. Kids need to rough it up a bit, use out houses, shower 2x during the week, get a bit dirtier and maybe wetter.

Horse Camps

Ages 12-16 (open to guy’s or girls)

Do you love horses? These camps will introduce you to the skills needed to handle and care for a horse. With a focus on riding, campers will also learn to catch, groom, and tack a horse. Campers will stay “out on the range” in a newly developed area on the ranch: sleeping in a canvas wall tent, cooking some food over the fire and having their own small group Bible studies and campfire times. We are running a full summer of horse camps for both guys and girls this summer. The camps range from 3 days for beginners to one or two weeks depending on age. For the 3 day and one week camps, campers do not need previous riding experience, but must have a desire to work with horses.

ABOUT CAMP FEES

Dear Parents,

In the past, camp has been offered to families for free. We have recently decided to have a suggested camper fee for those who cannot afford the full cost of camp.

We want to stress though, that we do not want any child to miss out on camp because of finances.

If you cannot afford to pay the fees as suggested below, simply fill out the registration form and mail it to us. Brightwood Ranch will gladly take care of the costs for you.

img_0001“Christian camping has been in my blood ever since I was 16. I went to camp through an inner city youth organization in Winnipeg when I was 9, accepted Christ at camp when I was 15 and started as a counselor the next summer. I was asked that year what I wanted to do with my life and I said I wanted to be a Camp Director. Most of the significant decisions and times of growth for me have happened while serving at camp.”
