Want to make a difference this summer?

Sooner than you think it will be that time of year again…Summer…a season of thawing, waking from hibernation, and adventuring out into the world again, after another long hard winter.

While summer most definitely is the time for the beach, BBQ’s and Vacation, it is also earmarked for another important event, summer camp.

Thousands of kids of all ages and demographics will find themselves at a summer camp somewhere this summer. Be it because they have patiently waited all year for this experience, or simply their parents signed them up, everyone of these kids are hoping to have a great experience out at camp. For some of these kids it will be the only vacation they will have, or even the only place that they might find a friendly face willing to share some Hope and Love.

Each summer, more than 600 underprivileged children attend Brightwood Ranch Camp for a week long summer camp. Their days are filled with outdoor activities, recreation, games, and lessons about God. These children are building supportive relationships, and learning important life skills that will bear fruits in their lives for years to come.

To be able to properly minister to these 600 underprivileged children we need passionate, and qualified staff and volunteers.

This is where you come in…

We currently have opportunity for you to be able to work or volunteer at Brightwood ranch for summer, or some amount of the summer. You will have the privilege to love these kids, and guide them through some of the best moments of their lives. To help to create memories that will last them a lifetime. To help them know they have a future and a Hope. To know that they are loved.

Here are some of the things that past staff have to say about the ranch:

Krista: Olive
Camp Counselor
I would describe Brightwood Ranch as committed. They’re committed to the campers, both during the week -making sure it’s all about them, and with post-camp follow up. They’re committed to sharing the gospel. They’re committed to their staff and volunteers -I always felt as though I could ask for help, ask for a break or talk to the head staff. Very positive

Stacey: Sarge
Leadership Developement Coordinator
My time at Brightwood was unforgettable! From the first day, trekking around the camp taking in all of the beauty, to the last day, sitting around a campfire with all of the amazing friends that I made, it was an awesome experience.
What stays with me the most are the friendships that I made with the other staff, the way I bonded with the campers, and how God worked on our hearts. God used everything that summer, from whitewater rafting to sunrise devotions to bring us closer to Him and to bring glory to Himself. I can’t imagine anything better than spending a summer being challenged, helping others grow closer to God and having a blast the whole time!

Jessica: Guns
Camp Nurse/Secretary
love that kids who do not have enough money to go to camp can still come to Brightwood. As the office secretary one spring, it was so nice to tell the parents that camp costs ranged from whatever they could afford to free!

Nathan: Gilligan
If you have a desire to serve God in an environment that will both challenge and encourage you, if you want to experience something totally different from everyday life, you should think about applying

Kari-Ann: Kare Bear
I would have to say that Brightwood is an awesome place. So much for the kids to do and there is nothing that would stop me from going back. God has blessed the Staff at Brightwood with a great facility and that is just a small part of the wonderful things there.

Jen: Zip Bong
It will be a life changing summer full of challenges, adventures, and friendships. A summer of learning to trust God and depend on Him to help you serve others.

What is the next step?

Think about it.

Pray about it.

If you can’t do the whole summer, what could You do?

What if a group from your church came?

What impact can your life have on a child’s?

What impact can they have on yours?

Decide if you want to have a hand in guiding these young ones to and through positive experiences…

…And Apply.
